Nature lovers choose Lilywood Landings for greenery and open spaces

11 January 25

For keen gardener Jarred Funnell, the best thing about moving to Lilywood Landings will be having a lawn.

The network engineer and his wife Naoko have snapped up one of the first lots in our new community and will be moving in next year from an apartment in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.

“We wanted to venture out of Brisbane for something more affordable,”

said Jarred, 28.

“Building our own home is very exciting because we can put our own stamp on it. I can’t wait to have a lawn and get stuck into some gardening, and we love that Lilywood is close to nature and high up with a lovely view.”

The couple, who have been married 18 months, were eligible for the State Government’s first home buyers grant and also saved a little nest egg for their dream home.

They have opted to build a spacious and modern house with four-bedrooms, two-bathrooms, and space for two cars.

Jarred will be commuting to Brisbane from Morayfield Train Station, which is just 5.2km from Lilywood Landings.

“It’ll be great not having to plan my days around peak hours, which makes things tricky sometimes,” he said. “A lot of my friends live on the northside so I’ll be closer to them when we are at Lilywood as well.”

Naoko, 30, works full-time from home so was pleased to discover Lilywood Landings will be an nbn community.

In a move that makes it easy for buyers, the required infrastructure will be installed in advance, which means all that’s left to do is move in and get connected.

The couple are also excited about plans for a new childcare centre within the community.

“The whole process of buying at Lilywood has been very easy,” said Naoko. “I love that there will be a childcare centre close to our home. We hope to become parents in the future so it will be really handy.”
