It’s time to meet our very first residents!
Callum and Nina Richter are delighted to be crowned the first settlers in the new city of Waraba after picking up the keys to their dream home at Lilywood Landings.
The couple, who were previously renting a house at Chermside West, in Brisbane’s north, can’t wait to start a new life in our fledgling community – surrounded by nature and close to everything they need.
“It’s really exciting to think we are the first people to move in,” said Nina, 28.
“It might be a bit quiet for a few weeks with just us here, but we can’t wait to meet our new neighbours when they eventually join us.”
The couple chose Lilywood Landings for its affordability and location. With family on the Sunshine Coast and work in Brisbane, they are now perfectly positioned to enjoy the best of both worlds.
“Lilywood is very affordable compared to other areas we looked at and is also close to established schools and parks, which means when we decide to start a family then everything is ready to go,” said Nina.
“Given that Waraba is a Priority Development Area, we know it will benefit from government funding in the years to come so there will be plenty of facilities for residents.”
The couple, who were eligible for the State Government’s First Home Owner Grant, chose to build with Integrale Homes, one of Lilywood’s flagship builders.
They chose The Cape – a single storey four-bedroom, two-bathroom home with a media room.
Callum, 29, said he was very happy with the “solid building process” and couldn’t wait to settle in.
“Integrale Homes were very responsive, very fast to build with and really helpful with anything that we needed, which was great considering we’ve never done this before,” he said.
“It’s going to be fantastic to not have to pay someone else’s mortgage anymore.”
Nina said she was looking forward to having a house of her own.
“It’s lovely to think that we can put our own paintings up without having to get permission from anyone,” she said.
“There is so much to celebrate!”
Lennium Development Manager Ian Worthington said welcoming the Richters to Lilywood Landings was a milestone moment for the new community.
“This is the beginning of a brand-new city and it’s incredibly special to see our very first residents moving in,” he said.
“We’re proud of what’s been achieved so far at Lilywood Landings and look forward to watching the community grow with each new resident who joins us.”
